For the Owner

For the Owner: import past matters for conflict checks

Import a CSV of past clients and other sides so conflict checks cover your history from before Qadiyo.

Before you start

Only the Owner and Partner roles can import past matters. The Admin role cannot. Every future conflict check searches the names you import. Save your list as CSV (in Excel choose File, Save As, CSV UTF-8). Keep it under 5 MB. It needs a Client column. If you have them, add Other side, Matter, Year and Reference. Extra columns are ignored.

Imported names are stored in Qadiyo. A match in a conflict check shows the past client or other side, with the matter details, to people at your firm who can read that check. Include only the columns you are content to have shown there.

Before you import, write to hello@qadiyo.com to give your firm's written instruction to import. Qadiyo handles the names only on your instruction.

Steps

  1. Open Settings, then Conflict checks.

  2. Under Past matters, select Download a template to see the layout.

  3. Choose your CSV file with the file picker.

  4. Wait for Imported N past matters. Rows without a client name are skipped, and the message says how many.

  5. Check the Imports list. Each import shows how many matters, the date and who imported it.

  6. To undo an import, select Remove beside it, then Remove these N.

What happens next

Every conflict check now also searches these names. A match shows as Past client or Other side in past matter, with the matter details. The page shows how many past matters are on file.

If something looks wrong

  • Choose a CSV file. In Excel: File, Save As, CSV UTF-8. The file type is wrong.
  • That file is over 5 MB. Split it into smaller files.
  • There is no file picker, and the page says Only partners can import past matters. Your role cannot import.
  • You imported the wrong file: remove that import and import the corrected one.
